Matilde Oscura
Matilde Sample - Pack of 5 Cigars
The Legacy of Matilde: A Dream Revived
Backed by more than four decades of elite industry expertise, Matilde’s modern chapter began with legendary master blender José Seijas. After spending 40 years shaping the tobacco world as Vice President and General Manager of Tabacalera de García, retirement was the last thing on his mind. Instead, he set out to fulfill a lifelong dream.
Alongside his son Enrique, José breathed new life into Matilde—a historic brand originally founded in 1876 that had vanished from the market in the early 20th century. The father-son duo officially revived the label in 2013, launching its fresh debut in 2014.
Today, crafted at the renowned Tabacalera Palma factory, perfection remains the brand's uncompromising standard. Quality control is uniquely rigorous: only rollers who smoke cigars themselves are trusted with production. Additionally, the coarse veins of every tobacco leaf are meticulously trimmed by hand, guaranteeing both a striking aesthetic and a flawless, even burn.
Though the tobacco world lost a true visionary when José Seijas passed away in November 2024, his profound legacy and passion endure seamlessly through his son Enrique.
